Characteristics of Cotton Yarn

The characteristics of cotton yarn make it the most widely used natural textile fiber globally and the most prevalent cellulosic textile fiber. Cotton is utilized in the production of a wide array of products, including clothing, home furnishings, and industrial goods, and represented approximately 40 percent of the world's total fiber consumption. Notably, Odisha is renowned for its high-quality cotton production, ranking second in organic cotton production in India.

SJSPL is located in a cotton island, as cotton is a staple cash crop grown by the farmers in Kalahandi District. Another strategic advantage of SJSPL is the backward linkages. The sister concern of SJSPL is the Dwarkapuri Textile Pvt. Ltd. a leading ginning company situated next door with a production capacity of 30,000 bales per annum. Quality raw cotton is procured adopting stringent quality control for ginning by the Dwarkapuri Textile Pvt. Ltd. This is to the advantage of the SJSPL as the quality control is ensured from the first stage i.e., procurement of the high-quality raw cotton which is vital for production of the quality of yarn. To produce best quality yarn cotton with the right fiber length, strength, and fineness is selected.

Quality Management

As a part of the quality management proper quality planning, quality control, quality assurance and quality improvement are ensured. Regular quality tests of the raw cotton are tested in the quality control laboratory for properties like length, micronaire, strength, and trash content to ensure consistency. In the quality testing laboratory yarn quality testing to determine the yarn fineness, yarn count , yarn density , yarn strength, appearance quality is carried out by the qualified technical personnels. This is scrupulously followed to meet the expectations of out customers.
